A significant milestone in our journey occurred in 2023 when MEMCO secured the Chennai Metro Train Maintenance contract. This achievement marked MEMCO as the trailblazer, becoming the first Indian company to handle all facets of Metro Train projects. Our success in winning and executing this contract not only underscores our proficiency in the field but also positions MEMCO as a pioneering force in the comprehensive management of metro train initiatives in the country.

Project Management
MEMCO stands out in project management by ensuring smooth collaboration between clients and principals throughout the design, production, and testing phases. Our proactive approach involves vigilant monitoring of progress, swift issue resolution, and the adept handling of essential documents like Design Documents and O&M Manuals. We maintain meticulous records using tools such as DRCA, DRC, and MOM. In addition, we engage closely with Design and QC teams, efficiently manage spare lists, and prioritize customer satisfaction by delivering regular project updates.
Interface Management
Since 2009, MEMCO has been a frontrunner in Interface Management, providing essential services to BMRCL and DMRC. Our expertise lies in ensuring seamless integration of all systems and sub-systems within trains. This includes meticulous combination tests and interface activities to coordinate the Train Control Management System (TCMS) with various onboard systems. We excel in collaborating with external system suppliers, addressing critical criteria such as Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Assured Breaking Rate, Wi-Fi Data Downloading, and more.
Train Maintenance
In 2023, MEMCO marked a groundbreaking move by outsourcing the maintenance of metro trains for the Chennai Metro Phase 1 project Responsibilities include Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, Repairs, Retrofits, and more. We craft an annual Rolling Stock maintenance plan post-Defects Liability Period (DLP) and manage recruitment, training, and the takeover of train maintenance activities for Chennai Metro Trains.
Testing and Commissioning (T&C)
MEMCO meticulously conducts comprehensive static and dynamic tests at the depot level, ensuring the functionality and reliability of trains. Type tests and routine checks on the mainline validate the train’s performance. Our commitment extends to providing training for operational and maintenance personnel, simulating real-service scenarios, and promptly addressing faults discovered during testing or operational use.
Train Simulator Project
MEMCO takes pride in adept project coordination and execution, particularly with Mitsubishi Precision Corporation (MPC). Our multifaceted role involves preparing Technical Documents, Training Documents, Monthly Reports, and Test Plans. We ensure seamless onsite integration, installation, testing, and commissioning, coupled with pivotal Operational and Maintenance (O&M) training for trainees. Our holistic approach includes careful vendor selection for indigenous products and vital support in administration, procurement, and logistics.
Train Operations
MEMCO ‘s success in train operations began in 2017 when we became the first private company to secure the contract for outsourcing metro train operations for the Chennai Metro Rail Phase 1 project. This success expanded to operations at the Depot Control Centre (DCC) and Progress Planning Investigation Office (PPIO) in 2019. Additionally, MEMCO secured successive train operations contracts with Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) for lines 2A, 7, and 2B, planning strategic recruitment for expansion efforts.
